Control Panel Replacement
This control panel can be exchanged by first turning off the hot tub at the breaker to be sure there is no power going to the spa to avoid injury.  Then the control box lid is unscrewed giving access to the circuit board. Care is taken to note where the control panel is plugged into so the new one can be plugged into the same jack. Unplug the phone jack plug and cord on the circuit board that goes to the bad control panel.  Remove the cord/wire from the spa pack and remove the existing control panel.  Service person should be careful not to scratch the acrylic surface with whatever tool is being used to wedge out the old control panel. 

Control panels are usually not screwed in but just mounted with double-sided sticky tape.  A new taped gasket is included with the new replacement control panel for easy mounting of the new panel. 

Insert the new replacement control panel into the hole in the spa shell after having removed the old one.  Then thread the wire back into the spa pack and plug into the designated jack on the circuit board. Finally lift out the control panel after it is in the desired location, the fit has been checked and the wire routed, and peel off the protective paper covering the sticky part of the overlay.  Then insert overlay completely and press down to get a good bond with the surface.  Remove the top protective film if screen is covered and add the desired overlay sticker with the correct button layout.
That is what the repair looks like and it should take about 10-15 minutes. 

Be careful not to scratch the spa shell.  Be sure to turn power off before working on the spa for your safety.

Test new panel when installation is complete and enjoy your hot tub.

Note that the Balboa 52797 is actually a 12 button control panel, but on QCA Spas, the button configuration is 11 buttons or 10 buttons on the original QCA Spas factory overlay that can be selected above as required.  Overlay sold separately.
