Description

Balboa Kit Sensor Assembly 24 inch (1/4" diameter) M7 (model 30382) now includes the removable nut assembly - 2 pin connection plugs right into PCB and includes a 24" long cable included as part of the sensor assembly.

Can be used as either temperature or high limit sensor in a Balboa M7, Icon M7,S7 and Value VS systems.

Temperature sensor -  used in Balboa M7 spa heaters.  Also available as another part number 24 inch long M7 sensor with the nut assembly.  Now all the sensors include the nut, so you can order any of the 24 inch long M7 sensors for a comparable part.  This one will work just fine.  Heaters require 2 sensors.

This replacement M7 sensor is used in Balboa spa control systems.  The connector is a 2-pin type with 1/4" sensor diameter and 2 wires. The length of the wire is 24".

This sensor can be used as temperature or hi limit sensor.  Compatible with models 30382 , 32016 , 34-0202A-K, 103220 Coleman/Maax sensor.

The sensor unscrews from the heater manifold and pulls right out. There is a little tab on the clip that holds the 2 wire connector to the circuit board, so the tab needs to be pushed in before pulling the connector from the circuit board.  Sensor errors that show up on the panels include SN1 and SN3.  A DY error is a dry heater error.

True M7 systems have 2 sensors built into the heater tube, one on each side. There are also systems that only use one of these sensors as a hi-limit sensor.

When there are 2 sensors, the idea is for there to be a temperature difference which the circuit board senses between the 2 sensors.  Readings taken from both sensors are combined to analyze temperature, flow direction and rate and other data necessary to keep your hot tub operating safely at the desired set temperature.  Usually the sensor that reads the lower temperature is designated as the temperature sensor and the one reading the higher temp is the hi-limit. This makes sense so that in the case of a hi-limit or overheat condition, the higher temperature sensor will shut the heater off first.

Both sensors are the same and interchangeable with one taking on the duty of temperature sensor and the other taking on the duty of high limit sensor by the spa electronics - so really, depending on the direction of water flow, either sensor can take on either temperature or high limit duty since they are the same part.

We also offer the temperature sensor mount if needed - 52560.

Note that the part without the nut assembly is obsolete because the cost is the same and if you don't need the nut, you can remove it, so you may receive one with a nut when ordering this item in which case, you get a free nut!
