Description

Pool Tiger for swimming pools up to 50,000 gallons.  Pool Tiger helps stabilize water chemistry and helps provide a healthier and more inviting swimming pool environment.

Pool Tiger was designed to harness an all-natural process known as Hydrodynamic Cavitation. In this device the process relies solely on the flow of water as driven by the pool pump.

Constructed of hardy thermoplastic, Pool Tiger has no moving parts. It does not require electricity nor does it contain any cartridges or other components that will ever require replacement.

Pool Tiger Benefits per Manufacturer.

- Kills contaminants two ways

- Reduces the need for chlorine & other chemicals

- Clarifies water by eliminating suspended particles

- Simplifies water balancing

- Eliminates excess cyanuric & other acids

- Cleans scale and biofilm from pool surfaces, pipes and equipment

- Protects surfaces from scale and staining

Removes suspended particles that harbor contaminants

Provides a barrier of structured water at water’s surface that inhibits the escape of chlorine

Installation:
On new pools, the Pool Tiger should be installed last on the return line. On existing pools with a heater, it should be installed before the heater on the return line. If the return line is too short to install the Pool Tiger in line, use 8 elbow fittings and extra PVC to create a loop. Pool Tiger can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Hydrodynamic Cavitation

The effects of cavitation have been known for more than a hundred years, but only recently has this phenomenon been harnessed to provide several important benefits.

Cavitation in our device occurs when water accelerates within the device’s nozzle. This acceleration drops the pressure of the water below the vapor point, resulting in the formation of small vapor bubbles. As the vapor bubbles exit the nozzle, the pressure of the surrounding water causes them to rapidly collapse and revert to a liquid state once again.

This rapid change in water’s states of matter creates:
- High levels of infrared energy (heat )
- Intensive shock waves

These factors are sufficient to:
- Oxidize and destroy exposed contaminants – this improves sanitation and reduces the need for chemical treatment
- Initiate the gradual decomposition of acids – this raises pH and eliminates excessive levels of cyanuric
- Change the polarity of suspended particles, causing them to agglomerate to a size at which they are easily captured by the filter – this clarifies water and creates a more inviting swimming environment
- Affect the bonds between the hydrogen and oxygen atoms which constitute water molecules - this produces a phenomenon known as "structured water"

It is important to note that the heat produced by cavitation is quickly absorbed by the surrounding water. As such, it does not raise the temperature in the pool by any measurable degree.

More details from the manufacturer:
Every pool is unique due to variations in source water, usage, pool design and construction, equipment, foliage, water treatment methods, weather, location, age etc.

As such, it is impossible to make precise predictions as to how the water in a particular pool will be affected by a Pool Tiger. However, the following is offered as a general guideline.

- Water becomes crystal clear...3-7 days
- Heavy metal particles removed...1-2 weeks
- Need to brush pool walls diminishes...2-4 weeks
- Better contaminant control allows for chlorine reduction...3-6 weeks
- Low pH begins to gradually increase...3-6 weeks
- Cyanuric acid level begins to gradually decrease...3-6 weeks
- Percentage of free available chlorine gradually increases...4-8 weeks
- Existing scale begins to loosen – concrete and vinyl...6-10 weeks
- Existing scale shows signs of removal – fiberglass...2-6 months
